Today, on my morning walk, I listened to Alistair Begg preach from the text Psalm 32:1–2.
“Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.”
Psalm 32:1–2
He spoke of happiness and true happiness! What a joy!
Forgiveness=a stain removed!
Forgiveness=sins covered!
The basis of happiness is having sin blotted out.
He cancels the debt against us.
These descriptions describe justification by faith!
Given that our chief aim is to glorify God and enjoy him forever, we will never find happiness in finding ourselves. We will never find happiness in trying to find our own identity or orientation. Our identity is in Jesus Christ and Him alone. We have the highest of joys by knowing we are image-bearers of God and glorifying Him forever.
May you know this veritable happiness, dear reader.
